We use “cookies” on this site. Cookies are files with small amounts of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer's hard drive. Like many sites, we use “cookies” to recognize your logged-in state on Blackbox, to understand what Services you are interested in, to make Blackbox's website function for you, and to help your browsing experience and use of the site and the Services feel more customized. We may also share your information with certain trusted third-party service providers as outlined below.

Third-Party Services

Blackbox uses certain trusted third parties (payment processors, such as Stripe, and shipping carriers like FedEx and USPS) to help us provide our services. We may share personal information (such as shipping addresses) with these third-party providers, or they may access your personal information, only to perform relevant tasks on our behalf.

Please note, however, that certain third-party service providers have their own privacy policies with respect to the information they use to execute their tasks.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers. Once you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website's Terms of Service. For the purposes of European law, these third parties are independent controllers of data, which means that they are responsible for providing and complying with their own policies relating to any personal information they obtain in connection with the Services, and Blackbox is not liable for their handling of personal information.

Blackbox does not store credit card data. Customer encrypted credit-card data is securely stored and processed by Stripe, our payment-processing vendor. For more details on how credit card information is handled/secured by our payment-processor vendor, Stripe, please see Stripe's Privacy Policy.

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions to make sure it is not inappropriately used, accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed. The security of your personal information is of vital importance to us; but remember, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to take all reasonable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Data Transfers

As we are located in the USA, any information you provide will initially be collected and stored in the USA. If you are a resident of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway (referred to herein collectively as the “EU”), this may mean that your personal information will be stored in a jurisdiction that offers a level of protection that may, in certain instances, be less protective of your personal information than the jurisdiction you are typically resident in.

Privacy Shield

Blackbox complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use and retention of personal information received from European Union to the United States(the “Privacy Shield”). Blackbox has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Privacy Principles of notice, choice, accountability for onward transfer, security, data integrity, purpose limitation, access, recourse, enforcement, and liability (“Principles”). If there is any conflict between the terms policies in this Privacy Policy and the Privacy Shield Principles, the Principles shall govern. To learn more about Privacy Shield program, please visit the U.S. Department of Commerce Privacy Shield website. For more information regarding our Privacy Shield certification, please refer to the Privacy Shield List.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint to your local data protection authority. Further information about how to contact your local data protection authority is available at http://ec.europa.eu/justice/data-protection/bodies/authorities/index_en.htm.

In compliance with the Privacy Shield Principles, Blackbox commits to resolve complaints about our collection or use of your personal information. EU individuals with inquiries or complaints regarding our Privacy Shield policy should first contact Blackbox using the contact information listed below.

Blackbox has further committed to refer unresolved Privacy Shield complaints to ICDR/AAA, an alternative dispute resolution provider located in the United States. Under certain conditions specified by the Principles, you may also be able to invoke binding arbitration to resolve your complaint. If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your complaint from us, or if we have not addressed your complaint to your satisfaction, please contact or visit the ICDR/AAA Independent Recourse Mechanism website for more information or to file a complaint. The services of ICDR/AAA are provided at no cost to you.

We may use third-parties to provide certain services accessible through the Website. We comply with the Privacy Shield Principles for such onward transfers and may be liable in accordance with the Privacy Shield Principles if third-party agents that we engage to process such information about you on our behalf do so in a manner inconsistent with the Privacy Shield Principles, unless we are not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.
